RICHARD JAMES COOK

ABOUT ME

Current Location: Austin, Texas

Primary Skills: 3D Art, Video Editing, Game Design

Education: Full Sail, University of Texas

I was born in 1985, the same year the Nintendo Entertainment System hit the United States. Fate? Maybe.

My love for the creative arts stem from the first time I picked up the controller of my NES console. Art and technology have always been a large part of my life. I took that love to Orlando, Florida in 2003, attending Full Sail University for Computer Animation. Through the program, I learned many different skill-sets, including 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering.

After I left Full Sail, I continued honing my talents in 3D art by teaching myself ZBrush and many other supporting programs. I eventually also took roles on projects that lead to me serving as a producer, creative director, designer, and more.

I eventually came to enjoy documenting my life as a developer, which lead to me taking a shot at filmmaking. Through that endeavor, I managed to produce 3 films and a web series pilot.

I've also found a calling touring events as a speaker for both solo sessions and on several panels with prominent game industry talent.

I've certainly done a lot. And as a creator, no matter how I do it, I am always creating something. That is my life commitment.
